Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are set to offer £50M for Raheem Sterling – who is keen on the move to London.
The 27-year-old star has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with the forward concerned about his game time after starting 23 of 38 league games last season.
Sterling, who joined from Liverpool in a £49m deal in 2015 and has scored 131 goals in 339 games, is a major transfer target for new Blues owner Todd Boehly.
It is understood Chelsea are yet to lodge a formal bid for the England international, but one is expected shortly. Sterling has a year left on his contract and is understood to be reviewing his options.
According to The Sun, the Citizens have informed Sterling that they would consider any offer that is put forward, with Chelsea reportedly set to offer £50m for the attacker.
Thomas Tuchel is keen to sign the former Liverpool player, with the Chelsea boss allegedly promising Sterling a key role at Stamford Bridge.
As per the report, Manchester City are still hoping Sterling will accept a new contract, but they will look at accepting the bid providing the price is right.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
