Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of the club’s interest in Hoffenheim left-back, David Raum.
The left-back spot in particular remains an issue throughout Pep Guardiola’s time at the club. The reigning Premier League champions are still on the hunt for a left-back With Benjamin Mendy currently suspended by the club.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is City’s only recognisable left-back at present, though Pep Guardiola has been able to call upon Joao Cancelo to operate in that role.
Despite the success of Cancelo this season at left-sided full-back, it appears as though Manchester City’s long-term recruitment plans will feature the signing of a new player in that position.
According to 90min Football, Manchester City have enquired about the availability of Hoffenheim’s Germany international defender David Raum.
The 24 year old has established himself as one of the top left-backs in the Bundesliga. Raum is coming off an impressive season with Hoffenheim that saw him score three goals and register 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.
His performances have seen him attract the interest of a number of clubs despite joining Hoffenheim last summer from Greuther Fürth.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
