‘What a day for us!’, ‘Finally we have a real striker’ – Man City fans react as Erling Haaland ‘passes medical’ as move from Dortmund nears completion

Dortmund forward Erling Haaland has reportedly passed a medical at Manchester City as the Premier League champions prepare to announce they have completed the signing of the 21-year-old.

Haaland has long been linked with a transfer to one of the European elites, but it looks as though Pep Guardiola’s side have beaten off competition to win the race.

Several well-placed sources have confirmed that an announcement to confirm the much-awaited transfer is imminent and could even be made as early as this week.

Multiple reports from reliable Belgian publications have since revealed that Haaland has undergone his medical with the Blues at Erasmus Hospital in Brussels, Belgium, ahead of his imminent transfer to the current Premier League champions ahead of the 2022/23 season.

According to the latest from Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal is done and Manchester City have signed the hottest young striker in football.

Romano states that Haaland passed his medicals on May 9 and will be confirmed sometime in the same week. The fee is set to be in the region of €60 million as City will activate the release clause in his contract, but including wages and agent fees, this move will cost the Citizens a total of roughly €250 million.

Romano had further details on the signing as he confirmed that Haaland will not become City’s highest-paid player, but there are no specifics except that Haaland will not be paid more than Kevin De Bruyne’s £375,000 per week.

The contract signed by the Norwegian striker will keep him at Manchester City until June of 2027, showing City’s desire for him to become a long-term feature at the club.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
