Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report by Fabrizio Romano that claims Gabriel Jesus wants to leave and he’s not extending the contract.

There has been increasing speculation over the past week about Jesus’ future at City — with the Brazilian reportedly wanting to leave to get a regular starting berth elsewhere.

Now that the season has ended and the summer transfer window is close to opening, it seems as though the Etihad Stadium club could be at risk of losing one of their star forward who played a big part in their latest title triumph.

In a recent tweet from Fabrizio Romano, the journalist and transfer expert relayed comments made by City attacker Gabriel Jesus to ESPN about his future at the Etihad.

The 25-year-old said: “My future is still uncertain. I have already expressed my desire to Man City people and to my agent. I have in my head very clear what I want. Today, I want to celebrate a lot with City”

“I’m very happy here. If everything goes well for me, my wife and our family, Helena [his daughter] will come to the world. I have to take advantage of this moment. Then, think about the team. On vacation, I decide my future.”

Romano then added that the Brazilian “wants to leave and he’s not extending the contract with City,” ending his tweet by saying that sorting out the player’s future is a “work in progress”.

Romano’s Twitter post had a number of Man City fans talking. Here’s what some had to say in reply…

“Gabby has been good for us. 100% effort but unfortunately he’s had Aguero to contend with and now incoming Haaland. Think arsenal would be a good fit if he wants game time..”

“With the coming in of Haaland, its certainly he’s gonna warm the bench for a very long time. Had his opportunity to fill up Aguero’s shoes but I think he didn’t come anywhere near..”
