‘Get him in ASAP’, ‘upgrade on Gundo if we’re being real’ – Many fans react as Man City ‘weighing up Paul Pogba offer’ ahead of Man Utd exit

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of the club’s interest in signing United midfielder Paul Pogba on a free transfer.

After nearly six years at Old Trafford, Pogba is almost certainly leaving this summer and City would be able to sign him on a free transfer.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City are ‘exploring’ the possibility of launching an ‘explosive’ summer pursuit for the former Juventus Man.

The Mail adds that Guardiola – after the news of Fernandinho’s exit – wants to add a new versatile midfielder to his ranks next season, capable of playing defensive and offensive midfield.

His talent is undeniable, and Guardiola supposedly feels as though he could nurse him back to form at the Etihad.

Any such switch would bring about the same reaction as Carlos Tevez’s controversial move back in 2009. The Argentine swapped red for blue just as City were flexing their financial muscle.

Pogba is also expected to weigh up all offers on the table, with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain also set to throw their hats into the ring, before making a decision on his future.

If the 29-year-old is to leave then he is likely to have already played his last game for United as he is unlikely to return from a calf injury picked up in their 4-0 loss to Liverpool before the end of the season.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“I don’t believe in this. Pep would never want a player with such a huge ego. The same reason it didn’t work with Ibrahimovic. He likes low profile hard working players. Not divas.”

“I’ve always said since his Juve days; Pogba is a baller. Get him in ASAP.”
