Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola is poised to sign a contract extension this summer that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2025.
The Spaniard is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 and could extend that, but expects to work elsewhere at some point in the future.
Since his appointment in 2016, Guardiola has extended his stay with the reigning Premier League Champions on two occasions, firstly in 2018 and again in 2020.
Guardiola’s latest failure in the Champions League has led to suggestions the Spaniard could decide to end his time at City at the end of next season, when his current deal expires.
According to Mark Jones of the Daily Star, Pep Guardiola has assured Man City officials that he is more determined than ever to win the Champions League, and is poised to sign a contract extension this summer that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2025.
The report states that Guardiola is excited to work with Europe’s striker sensation Erling Haaland, who is expected to join the club this summer from Borussia Dortmund in a £63million deal.
Guardiola is convinced Haaland can make all the difference when it comes to conquering Europe, with City having squandered a host of chances to effectively kill the tie in the first leg at the Etihad.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
