Manchester City fans had a nerve-shredding last game of the season as their side had to battle from behind to triumph over Aston Villa and edge Liverpool out of the title race.
Things looked to be going Liverpool’s way when Matty Cash and Philippe Coutinho gave Villa a 2-0 lead. However, Pep Guardiola’s Blues were not to be denied.
The Sky Blues needed five minutes of magic to overturn Villa’s lead and make sure the Premier League trophy took its place in the City cabinet this season.
Ilkay Gundogan gave City hope in the 76th minute before a fine strike by Rodri sent the Etihad Stadium into raptures. But the best was yet to come as Gundogan scored to complete the turnaround with just nine minutes of normal time remaining.
The goals were needed in the end to lift the title as Liverpool ended up 3-1 victors thanks to late goals from Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson.
Taking to Twitter, Manchester City fans celebrated their hard-fought yet thrilling win over Aston Villa to retain the Premier League title.
