Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola provided an update on Kyle Walker ahead of Watford’s visit to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Walker has been out since damaging an ankle in the goalless draw at Atletico Madrid, while Stones and Ake picked up niggles in the midweek win over Brighton.
Walker is the biggest worry, having been fitted with a protective boot after the Atletico game — which he was still wearing at Wembley on Saturday.
Quizzed on Walker’s fitness ahead of City’s upcoming league game, Guardiola confirmed that the full-back is ‘getting better’ and that a decision will be made on whether he will play a part against Brighton on Saturday.
“He’s getting better, we’ll see tomorrow,” Guardiola said as he could be in line to shuffle his pack against Watford with one eye on the upcoming visit of Real Madrid in the Champions League next week.
These Guardiola’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
