Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another updates on Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund star has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Etihad and new reports claim a deal is already done to bring the striker to the Premier League.
Competition is fierce for Haaland’s signature, as the prolific Norwegian will be available for around £63 million when his release clause becomes active at the end of the season.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have all also been linked with the 21-year-old, who has scored 23 times in 20 appearances this season.
Daily Mail reported on Friday that City are leading the race and look primed to snap up the Leeds-born ace this summer in a deal that will cost around £100million with all the fees included.
According to Pol Ballus of The Times, Manchester City are confident of securing Haaland’s signature for a deal worth £100 million after a meeting held between club officials and the forward’s representatives last month.
The report claims Man City are prepared to say to Erling Haaland that they would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave the Premier League after four or five years and fulfil his ambition of playing for Real Madrid then.
In light to the report on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.
“This is a small club behaviour. what’s the point. Signing for us just to leave”

“I hate this. Some of this is Mino Raiola ensuring another payout for himself down the road, but Haaland can’t expect Man City fans (or the players) to buy that he’s all in with us when he’s already eyeing the exit.”

“That’s a sign of desperation.. we don’t need to tell him that, we can’t spend that huge sum of money and allow him to leave after 4/5 years.. He need to stay with us at least not less than 7 years before if he decides to leave that will be fine with us.”

“This is why I expect him to join City this summer. He clearly wants to play for both teams, and City have shown they won’t stand in the way of players. Joining City now only chance to work with Pep too, he won’t be here in 5 years time and he won’t go to Madrid.”

“Too early to say this will happen anyway, a lot can happen in that time so hopefully we get him longer.”

“I honestly believe we could retain him for longer so long as Pep extends and we replace him with a top level manager, as long as Haaland wins the Champions League for us he’ll be a legend even if it’s only 5 years.”

“Just sign him on a 6/7 year deal though so we get some money for him. Also players usually fall in love with the club when they come and don’t feel the need to leave for the big 2 in Spain. Look at Silva and Aguero, Kun was always linked with madrid and also barca pre-suarez.”

“It’s okay I guess, in 5 years we will win everything & who knows he might change his mind in future.”

“They say this with every big buy. But it’s more likely that he will just fall more in love with city. Like aguero silva and all them..”

“Precisely that dream of playing for Madrid makes me doubt the news. It may be that in the end he does not accept, since according to what I read, it is Raiola who wants him to go to City. So I do not know. Hopefully Fabrizio Romano says something about this.”

“I have no problem with this really. Get him in now, worry about that it later. If it helps him feel all his options are open, we become an easier move to make..”

“City will obviously hope that he changes his mind during that time and want to stay, but ultimately as long as we don’t put a £70m release clause in there then the club will probably receive close to a record transfer fee for him in 5 years’ time if it does happen.”
