Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another updates by Fabrizio Romano on the future of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
The 21-year-old striker is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer due to a £62million release clause, and interest is high from the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Having missed out on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane earlier this year, the Norwegian goal machine is reportedly next Pep Guardiola’s ‘primary striker target’ as he looks for a new No 9 after the departure of Sergio Aguero last summer.
The Norwegian striker’s massive wage demands will limit the number of clubs that have the financial capacity to sign him. In particular, Manchester City and Real Madrid are two sides that seem prepared to meet his asking price.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are prepared to offer ‘a lot of money’ for Erling Haaland – possibly the best offer from a financial point.
Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Here We Go’ podcast, Romano said: “Manchester City are prepared to offer a lot of money (for Haaland), so on a financial point, the best proposal will probably be from Manchester City.
“But Real Madrid are also prepared to offer a lot of money to Erling Haaland too – not on the same level (as Manchester City), from what I’m told.
“Real Madrid want to invest a lot of money in Kylian Mbappe, which is why they have to be careful with Erling Haaland. Madrid are working on both Mbappe and Haaland.
“At the moment, Manchester City and Real Madrid have big economic proposals for Erling Haaland. As for Barcelona, they are trying to change the situation, which is why (Barcelona president) Joan Laporta is careful when he is speaking in public about Erling Haaland.”
In light to the report on Haaland, many Man City fans have reacted – here are some of the best responses.

“Not a good deal if we are paying him too much. Many of our players are in final years of their contract. Everyone will start asking crazy money or leave for free. Not wise to get one player for crazy sum and lose four for free. Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus, Gundogan all entering final years.”

I don’t like the idea of paying him 500k esque wages man. Will ruin our amazing wage structure. Max we should be offering is 350k a week which is equal to KDB.”
