Report: Manchester City to join race to sign 2.5 million euros per season Serie A star

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly an admirer of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who will likely move to a new club in the summer.

The Spaniard, who has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, is a versatile midfielder renowned for his close control and accurate passing, making him a perfect fit for a Guardiola side.

Although the Spaniard is currently attempting to win the Serie A title with Napoli, speculation persists that he will take on a new challenge elsewhere later in 2022.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Ruiz, who is currently on 2.5m euros per season salary, looks destined to depart in the summer window, having turned down the chance to extend a contract that expires in 2023.

If reports are to be believed, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all contemplating offers for the 25-year-old.

However, according to journalist Antonio Giordano, Guardiola may take the opportunity to try to add his compatriot to his midfield options at the Etihad Stadium.
