Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Newcastle United are hoping to sign John Stones this summer.
Stones, who has been limited to just six league starts in his preferred centre-back role this term, played 90 minutes as Man City thumped rivals Man United 4-1 on Sunday.
He has fallen down the pecking order this term, with Pep Guardiola preferring to play Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte at the back.
That will change over the next few weeks as both Dias and Nathan Ake are injured, the 55-cap England star will be relishing the opportunity to nail down his place.
Given his sporadic Premier League appearances this season, and his inability to dislodge City’s preferred centre-back partnership of Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte, Newcastle want to prize the Englishman away from the Etihad.
According to Dean Jones via Givemesport, Recruitment staff at Newcastle United are hoping they may be able to negotiate with Man City over John Stones.
GiveMeSport reveal Newcastle United officials have come up with a ‘dream’ transfer list which includes John Stones, Manchester United’s Dean Henderson and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Many man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
