‘Yessss’, ‘Sell him’, ‘would be great for him’ – Many Man City fans react as €60m-rated star is linked with La Liga club

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Gabriel Jesus is ‘in the running’ to replace Luis Suarez at Atletico Madrid this summer.

The 24-year-old is one of the senior players who had been linked with a move away from City during last summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has reinvigorated his Manchester City career this campaign with 6 goals and 9 assists in 28 appearances so far in all competitions but finds himself at the bottom of the pecking order when Pep Guardiola is picking his attackers.

Given the fact Jesus has decided he doesn’t want to play centrally, he has narrowed his opportunity for starts – especially when his most direct competition for a spot on the right wing, Mahrez, is having his best-ever goalscoring season and already has 21.

The €60m-rated star has less than 18 months on his contract at Manchester City, and with no sign of a new contract, a reports have emerged claiming he could be taken to Spain in the summer.

According to Sport as relayed by Sport Witness, the Brazilian is on the list of options being looked at by Atletico Madrid to replace Suarez should the Uruguayan leave as expected.

The newspaper explains that the Brazilian has never been able to ‘establish himself’ at the Etihad, and a change of scenery ‘could reactivate his role’ in a big European club.

As per the report, there is also a belief that Man City ‘will be more willing’ to sell, if they sign the striker they are chasing.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the fans, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the speculation.
