‘Kane bid incoming’, ‘Would be the ideal signing’ – Fabrizio Romano update has many Man City Fans talking

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola is more than in love and will surely try to sign Harry Kane again this summer.

It’s no secret that Guardiola’s side are in the market for a new striker after losing Sergio Aguero in the summer, increasing the likelihood of a high-profile name arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2022.

The 28-year-old Totherham Hotspur striker was a target for the Premier League champions last summer but, in the end, they were unable to get a deal done.

As we know, City did all they could to land Kane but Tottenham refused to negotiate, and Levy stood firm on his £150million valuation which was too much to ask of Pep Guardiola’s side who had spent £100million on Jack Grealish during that time.

City boss Pep Guardiola recently hinted that his club made four attempts to sign Kane. As per the Daily Mail, the Spaniard said: “We tried but Tottenham were clear that it was not going to happen. When that happens two, three, four times, it’s over.”

Kane now has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal, and will be 31 years of age when his contract is up.

Despite his outstanding performance at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, there’s no denying that Kane has looked like a shadow of the player who has dominated the Premier League over the past few years this season.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues remain “in love” with Harry Kane, despite the 28 year-old’s largely underwhelming Premier League campaign.

Speaking in an interview with FIVE, Romano said, “They (Manchester City) are in love with (Harry) Kane, they are in love with Kane. Pep Guardiola is more than in love with Kane. Last summer, they were obsessed with Kane.”

Fabrizio Romano believes that Manchester City could “try” to sign Kane again despite recently linked with big money moves for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

“Only a fee week’s ago Pep was asked about City making a move again for Kane. He looked the reporter square in the eye and said.. ‘It’s over, it’s done’!. I know Pep often purposely misdirects the media etc.. But on this, he appeared deadly serious.”
