‘That ain’t happening in a long time’, ‘Unless he turns into VVD’ – Some Man City fans reacts to the club’s clauses in Philippe Sandler transfer to Feyenoord

Feyenoord chief Frank Arnesen has revealed Manchester City have an option to bring Philippe Sandler back to the club in future.

Manchester City sold the Dutch defender to Feyenoord in the January transfer window, ending his three-and-a-half-year spell at the Club.

The Dutch central defender, who made just two senior appearances for City, spent the first half of the season on loan at sister club Troyes, but was recalled in January and left permanently for Feyenoord on deadline day.

Manchester City allowed him to leave on a free transfer last month, a deal they usually don’t do particularly for younger players who could yet develop.

And it seems they weren’t on this occasion either, with Feyenoord sporting director, Frank Arnesen revealing Manchester City have kept their options open with various clauses.

“Philippe Sandler was free transfer and a godsend,” he told Eindhoven Dagblad.

“We have an option to keep him for one or two more seasons from next summer. Manchester City has the right to buy him back.

“And if a club ever wants to take him over and makes an offer, then City can put down the same amount and make sure he returns there.”

These Frank Arnesen’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted attention from the club’s supporters.
