Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the City Football Group (CFG) are leading the race to sign another Brazilian teenage Striker Savinho.
City recently signed 22-year-old Julian Alvarez from River Plate and it seems the Premier League champions’ are interested in yet another highly-rated wonderkid from the continent.
The signings of less established talents such as Marlos Moreno, Yan Couto and Kayky are an indication of how highly City officials regard South America as a hub for potential superstars.
According to the information from Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are leading the race to sign Atletico Mineiro forward Savinho for a fee of €6.5 million.
The report claimed that the fee could be subject to a rise, as per certain pre-established clauses by which the Brazilian side will receive a percentage.
Negotiations are continuing and if a deal is struck for Sávio to join City in the summer, the 17-year-old could be loaned to PSV Eindhoven next season.
The winger made his top-flight debut for Atletico Mineiro as a 16-year-old, and made his first appearances for Brazil’s under-18 side during the November international break.
Savinho has yet to score a league goal for Atletico Mineiro, but an impressive record for Brazil’s age-group sides has not gone unnoticed.
The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
