Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is considering Inter Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez.
Martinez, who was heavily linked with a departure last summer, continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League, with Man City manager Pep Guardiola believed to be a ‘great admirer’ of the Argentina international.
The Cityzens did sign Julian Alvarez in January from River Plate to become Sergio Aguero’s successor at the Etihad. But the 22-year-old may not feature in a City shirt until next January as he is back on loan at River Plate.
For an immediate striker solution, Guardiola remains intent on adding another, more experienced, goalscorer to his ranks before the next season kicks off.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is seen as a key target, but with lot of competitions for his signature, the Cityzens seems to be looking into the possibility of landing Martinez.
According to InterLive.it via Sport Witness, despite signing an extension last October to keep him at the club until 2026, the Italian champions are reportedly looking to cash in on the 24-year-old.
In the report, they say that Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the Serie A and Copa America winner.
The report adds that City could be tempted to offer Gabriel Jesus in part exchange; however, Inter ‘only want cash’ and will consider bids in excess of €60m (£50.5m) next summer.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

No way Pep watched Lautaro & thought to himself that he’s going to take City to the next level.
Inconsistent ball striking, half-decent link up play & okay box movement. Only thing he’s consistent with is tenacity & pressing. If City’s bid is close to €65M, Inter should accept https://t.co/R6efkTYKVv

Everyone saying no, but they forget that Lautaro Martinez is the top striker with 19 goals in the current Argentina squad.

he’s proved me wrong recently, much better than I thought. still prefer Haaland or Felix for now

Get Haaland ffs. I don’t want to see him at Madrid, and we don’t have any money so I want Man City to get him.
Foden – Haaland – Mahrez would instantly be the strongest attack in the world
