‘Finally a striker’, ‘Let’s go’, ‘The world ain’t ready’ – Many Man City fans react as ‘Excellent news’ on Julian Alvarez emerges

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of another update on the club’s pursuit of River Plate striker Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez, who is out of contract in December, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in South American football, and after excelling in his native Argentina, he is now expected to make the next step in his career, with a potential move to Pep Guardiola’s side on the horizon.

A flurry of reports emerging last week mentioned that Manchester City were nearing a move for Julian Alvarez, who can play centrally or out wide.

It is believed that the Citizens are prepared to activate the 21-year-old’s release clause, worth in the region of £17m, in a bid to fend off interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

According to 90min_Football, Manchester City are close to sealing a deal for the River Plate forward, who has taken Argentine football by storm this season.

The report claims a deal of around £20m had been agreed and is set to be concluded, with local taxes and fees now needed to be paid by River.

The report adds that the transfer will see Alvarez, who is considered by some Man City Fans as the perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero, remain at River until the summer.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Man City Fans as usual have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
