‘Just stay please’ – Man City fans react to Bernado Silva interview

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has opened up on his future at the club after a summer of uncertainty.

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a summer exit from the Etihad Stadium, however the Portugal international eventually stayed put and has since excelled for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign.

The Portuguese star has been City’s standout player so far this season and has contributed seven goals and one assist in 18 appearances in the Premier League.

Speaking in a new interview with Portuguese sports newspaper O Jogo, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Bernardo Silva has opened up on his future at Manchester City and whether playing for one of the best clubs in the world, in perhaps the best competitions in the world have affected his decision.

Bernardo Silva explained, “It depends. Right now, I think it’s the best championship (Premier League) in the world, I think it’s the country where the level is the highest.”

“There was a Spanish dominance a few years ago, which lasted a long time. I think that at the moment, the English teams are the strongest in the world and therefore, it is always good to be where the best football is played.”

These Bernardo’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters, with many fans urging him to “stay forever” at the club.
