Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Raheem Sterling is leaning away from penning a new deal with the club, with the attacker now weighing up a loan move to Barcelona.
The England international has struggled to hold a key role in Pep Guardiola’s plans so far this season, and has only started six of his 15 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old, who was an unused substitute in the Manchester derby against Manchester United on Saturday, has only managed two goals and two assists for the English champions this term.
Phil Foden’s development and the £100million arrival of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa has only further fuelled the belief that the 26-year-old will leave.
Sterling is reportedly frustrated with his lack of playing opportunities at the Etihad Stadium this season and is keen to ply his trade elsewhere, with Barcelona poised to make the deal happen.
With Sterling set to have just one year remaining on his contract come the summer, speculation around Sterling’s future has already begun to swirl.
According to Pol Ballús via The Times, the England international, who joined City for a reported fee of £49m in 2015, is ‘unlikely’ to sign a new contract and would consider a loan move to Barcelona should he fail to break back into Pep Guardiola’s side by January.
Pol Ballús claims Sources inside Man City believe there is an increasing likelihood Sterling will not extend his stay at the club.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

Absolute L mentality, why not work hard on the training pitch, and when you get an opportunity in the starting line up show the manager why he should start you in the next game.

If he thinks he can throw a tantrum and sneak into the XI, he can go.

What’s up with Raheem , his form is rubbish , have the mentality that iam good enough for this team , train harder to get back in the team , don’t use a loan move as an excuse 2 get more game time ur better than that .

Let’s be honest, we don’t want Raheem sterling to stay, but we thank him for all the trophies we won together

He’s been a good player for the club but doesn’t suit the way we play now. Probably best all round if he moves on and good luck to him 👍💙

He’s been stalling for months now. Another Sane situation

If this is the case then we have to sell him this January or in the summer. Cant have him going into the final 2 years of his contract. We need to convince him to stay cause most likely mahrez will leave in the next W years as well so we gonna need another right winger
