Manchester City mildfielder Bernardo Silva insists he is happy at the Etihad despite being unable to secure a move out of the club in the summer.
During the summer transfer window, the Portugal international informed the club of his desire to leave and the club was open to the prospect of allowing Silva to leave.
The deadline passed with the versatile attacker still in Manchester, though, and has arguably been one of the club’s strongest performers so far this season.
The Portuguese star has turned his City career around within the last few months. In City’s last few outings, he seems to have found his best form and is quickly becoming a crucial player for Guardiola once more.
When he’s at his best, Silva is simply a joy to watch and it seems remarkable that there were rumours of City being willing to offload him in the summer. However, reports of a departure from the Etihad still remain frequent in the gossip columns.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the trip to Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime, Bernardo said he loves playing for City, and that his relationship with the supporters and people within the club has never been at risk.
“I’m feeling happy right now. I love the club, I’ve always loved the club,” he said, without ruling out he could look to leave again in the future.
“I feel the love from the fans, from the staff and from my team-mates and that was never the question.”
These Bernardo’s comment on his future has prompt Plenty of Sky Blues to react on social media.
Good sign, let’s hope it stays like that 👀💙

It’s good to see him back on his feet and happy to be involved. Can’t easily forget that he nearly leaves the club for Atletico Madrid. 😭😭

Would of been a disaster if he left. Criminally underrated, top 5 midfielder in the world easy
