Manchester City are waiting on Kyle Walker’s fitness after he limped out of Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Club Bruges towards the end of the second half.
Pep Guardiola confirmed that the 31-year-old suffered ‘a kick on his foot’, with City now ascertaining whether he will be available to face Manchester United.
City, who will be eager to claim three points after losing to Crystal Palace last weekend, have failed to win any of the past four Manchester Derbies in the Premier League.
With the Sky Blues already five points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, the first Manchester derby of the season could have huge ramifications on the Premier League title race.
However, the Blues wait on the fitness for their ever reliable right-back. Manchester City’s medical team will assess Kyle Walker ahead of Saturday’s game with Manchester United.
City would likely switch Joao Cancelo to the right-hand side and call on Oleksandr Zinchenko at left back if the England international does not prove his fitness for the trip to Old Trafford.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from Man City fans.
