Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on Barcelona‘s interest in signing Raheem Sterling on loan during the winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old was linked with the Blaugrana earlier this summer. A swap deal was speculated with Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto among players mentioned.
The England international has struggled to cement his place in Pep Guardiola’s plans as Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish currently occupy the starting positions in the Manchester City attack.
And it appears Barca are keeping tabs on his situation in view to a move in January when the transfer window reopens.
According to The Mirror, Barcelona are looking to bring the forward to the Nou Camp on loan as they look to turn around their terrible fortunes after a dismal start to the season.
The La Liga club have freed up money on their wage bill with the transfers of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, meaning Sterling’s salary is unlikely to be an issue should he be interested.
Sterling is thought to be open to the move, understanding that he can be a leading light at Barcelona due to their lack of options in the final third.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

We already told Barca we’re not accepting loans in the summer so why are they so hard headed?

Rather sell him than loan him. His value may decrease after a loan spell

Why will city send a first team player on loan who has 18 months left doesn’t make sense
It is either loan plus obligation to buy or no deal at all— Release Clause FC (@shoyab22) October 5, 2021
5 month loan with Obligation to buy for €50M, I’d take that.
