Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club want to sign Paris Saint-Germain‘s superstar forward Kylian Mbappe ‘at any cost’ this summer.
The World Cup-winner, who have been linked with a move to Manchester City in the past has attracted interest from across Europe, with Real Madrid speculated to be one of the frontrunners for his signature – should the forward choose to depart PSG.
Mbappe’s current deal with the Paris-based club expires in the summer of 2022 – with mass speculation over a move elswhere.
According to the Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles speaking on the latest edition of the Transfer Window podcast as relayed by City Xtra, Sheikh Mansour, the owner of the reigning Premier League champions, has issued a ‘mandate’ to make prolific Mbappe the club’s newest striker ‘at any cost’.
The report claims the premier league champions want to sign Kylian Mbappe, who has scored 163 club career goals so far, ‘at any cost’, despite substantial interest from Real Madrid.
Mbappe is thought to consider Madrid his first choice, with City one of the few clubs in the world who could provide the prodigy with greater financial incentives than the 13-time Champions League winners.
Mbappe, who would be free to enter into contract discussions with Man City in January if he does not sign a new deal in Paris, has scored four times and registered four assists in eight outings at club level this term.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

He’s going to Real Madrid. The player wants it, the club wants it. It’s impossible and we should just focus on Haaland who we actually have a chance of signing

Haaland is better
