Manchester City registered their equal-lowest number of shots on target ever in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola in a frustrating 0-0 draw with Southampton at the Etihad.
In the whole game, Manchester City had an advantage in possession rate, 64%. In the number of attacks, Manchester City also dominates, 110 against 89 times; in the number of dangerous attacks, Manchester City has 66 times and opponents 34 times.
Unfortunately, Pep Guardiola’s side once again encountered the problem that made him crazy-gaining power and not scoring. With the ball dominant, Manchester City shot 16 times, but their shots were basically not threatening.
The Premier League champions directed just one shot on target in the whole game (via Phil Foden in the 90th minute, their lowest tally in a Premier League game since March 8, 2017 when they also managed just one, against Stoke City.
According to statistics, one shot equaled the minimum number of shots in a single game in the Premier League during the Guardiola era.
Here’s what some City supporters had to say on Twitter about their attacking output against Southampton…
Arrogant Pep didn’t sign a striker. I don’t see us winning the league or champions league without a striker. Sterling, Torres and GJ can’t replace Aguero

The worst offensive game since I am a City fan 11 years ago, for me the game was badly read by Pep, it was Ferran who had to enter, we needed the goal
