Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club remain focused on landing Harry Kane despite being offered Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 36-year-old Juventus forward has just ten months left to run on his £25.5m-a-year contract at the Old Lady, with his future in Turin far from certain.

City are in the market for a new striker this summer with their priority remaining Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

The premier league champions have been reportedly offered the chance to sign Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo as a potential alternative to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane

During his rant, the Juve forward condemned the media for linking him with a host of clubs and even labelled the speculation as “disrespectful” before affirming his intentions to remain focused on his career.

On Thursday, the same publication claimed that Mendes “won’t give up” on the prospect of Ronaldo joining – and could even fly to Manchester to fight his cause.

According to Sam Lee for The Athletic UK, During talks this week, Jorge Mendes proposed that Man City sign Cristiano Ronaldo instead of Harry Kane, but that was ‘dismissed’ as City are ‘determined’ to sign Kane and will try until the end of the window to close a deal.

The Juve forward scored 29 times and made three assists in 33 games in Serie A last term, while Kane netted 23 goals and made 14 assists in 35 outings.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
