Some Manchester City fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano delivered an update on centre-back Aymeric Laporte.
In recent weeks, there has been growing speculation Laporte may find a way out of the Etihad Stadium this summer, with a host of clubs reportedly interested in the Manchester City star.
The 27-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018 when City activated his £57m release clause, and has been a key player for the defending premier league champions in the last few years.
However, Laporte, for the first time in his career, found himself out in the cold cutting a frustrated and desolate figure as John Stones and Ruben Dias continued to be Pep Guardiola’s go-to centre-back pairing.
The Spanish defender has struggled for regular starts since last season and the club won’t stand in his way if his valuation is met by a potential suitor, as per a report by Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News).
According to Mirror last week, the Spain international defender was linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus.
However, Fabrizio Romano has confirms that the Old Lady are not interested in signing Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City this summer.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
They don’t deserve him anyway

Good, why would he downgrade anyway?

City aren’t interested in selling him either.

Thank god, we need him if dias or stones is injured plus our door did well against Norwich

We need him to stay man… considering we’ll go to the deep end of most competitions we play in, it’s gonna be a long season ahead and stones for me personally doesn’t have the durability of dias to last that long, Laporte needs to stay and fight for his place
