Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Aymeric Laporte‘s Wage Demands is proving problematic for suitor clubs.
In recent weeks, there has been growing speculation Laporte may find a way out of the Etihad Stadium this summer, with a host of clubs reportedly interested in the Manchester City star.
The 27-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018 when City activated his £57m release clause, and has been a key player for the defending premier league champions in the last few years.
However, Laporte, for the first time in his career, found himself out in the cold cutting a frustrated and desolate figure as John Stones and Ruben Dias continued to be Pep Guardiola’s go-to centre-back pairing.
Laporte feels unsettled at the Etihad Stadium as he made just 14 starts in the Premier League and three in the Champions League last season
Despite having four years left on his contract, Laporte is believed to be eager to seal a move away from the club this summer and Juventus are keen on taking him to Italy.
The Italian giants are reportedly keen on bolstering their central-defensive options this summer with the signing of Manchester City defender.
According to Times Sport, Juventus are monitoring Laporte’s situation, but it will prove difficult for the former Athletic Bilbao star to find another club that can match his current wages at City, which are believed to be in the vicinity of £160,000-per-week.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Good. So he stays.

If he wants to play week in, week out, he should lower his salary and leave. If he wants the same salary, he should stay and fight for his spot.

Laporte man stay and fight for your place

Rather sell Jesus or Bernardo. 70M for Laporte or bounce.

£80M or no dice

Juventus couldn’t even afford Locatelli for £30m atm so got a 2 year loan deal, they can’t even think about Laporte lmao

Does anyone actually believe he's gonna leave this summer ? I genuinely don't see it at all, not one second. We can't spend a full season without a replacement for him and we've not been linked with a single CB this window
