Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is now in ‘direct contact’ with Aston Villa over a potential move for Jack Grealish during this summer’s transfer window.
The Premier League champions have been chasing the Aston Villa skipper for the majority of the summer, alongside Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane.
Recent reports have stated that the premier league club value their talisman at £100 million, however, some around the club believe that a bid in the range of £90 million could be accepted.
Aston Villa continue to stand firm on a £100 million valuation of their prized asset, and there is also an understanding in various quarters that they would be willing to discuss fresh contract talks with the player in order to keep him away from the grasps of the Premier League champions.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola’s side are in direct negotiations with Villa, and a decision on the attacker’s future is expected to be made ‘in the next days’.
Romano claims that Dean Smith’s team have already offered Grealish a new and improved contract and are hopeful of convincing him to turn down Man City’s advances.
Fabrizio Romano adds that Jack Grealish sorting personal terms with Manchester City will not be a problem if the Premier League champions agree a fee with Aston Villa.
The journalist however stated that it will not take long for discussions between the two clubs to reach a conclusion – whether that is a fee being agreed or an end to talks.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
