Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish is ‘rethinking’ a transfer to the Etihad due to concerns about his playing time at the club.
The Aston Villa skipper is one of the players Manchester City is considering buying this summer as they aim to defend the Premier League title and also impress again in Europe next season.
The 25-year-old, who only signed a new five-year deal with the club in September, has aspirations of playing in the Champions League and it is thought he is keen to step up to the next level sooner rather than later.
Reports over the course of the past month have suggested that the Villa midfielder has been attracting significant levels following his impressive season and is poised to move to the Etihad Stadium.
Recent reports have stated that the premier league club value their talisman at £100 million, however, some around the club believe that a bid in the range of £90 million could be accepted.
Aston Villa continue to stand firm on a £100 million valuation of their prized asset, and there is also an understanding in various quarters that they would be willing to discuss fresh contract talks with the player in order to keep him away from the grasps of the Premier League champions.
According to Alex Crook for talkSPORT, the Aston Villa captain is ‘rethinking’ his potential move to Manchester City this summer, due to concerns over game-time under Pep Guardiola.
The report claimed that Jack Grealish may fear that he could become a ‘bit-part player‘ under Pep Guardiola, and thus could decide to remain in Birmingham. Adding to this, talkSPORT state that the 25 year-old is also excited by the new arrivals at his current club so far this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Chief and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

Actually belive this tbh he deserves to be the star man of a team at Man City he wouldn’t get that

Don’t think so tbh pep would rotate him
— Gadz💫 (@godswill_ukpong) July 24, 2021
This makes sense I don’t see him consistently starting over the likes of Foden, Mahrez, Sterling, Gundogan, or Bernardo

Why would we want to pay £100 mill if he weren’t gonna play

I think these rumours are being spread by Aston villa. He would not be an automatic starter in any club which is in same form as city. He wasn't a starter in his own national team. I think Grealish knows this.
