Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal are making enquiries for Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez, who could be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Gunners significantly underperformed last season and are looking to make serious improvements to their squad this summer.
They have been linked with a host of players across different positions in order to increase their chances of securing Champions League qualification for the 2022/2023 campaign.
According to Eurosport, Arsenal have ‘checked on the status’ of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez, trying to gauge what level of player they can shop for this summer.
The report does however highlight that it remains ‘unlikely’ that either Sterling or Mahrez would want to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium, however it is merely a sign of Arsenal trying to gauge which level of player they can target.
It is claimed that the Gunners are prepared to invest heavily in the ongoing window and the Manchester City duo could prove to be good options for them.
However, Sterling and Mahrez are said to be keen to continue with Manchester City and are expected to hold talks about their situations in July.
