Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club could turn to a former prime target at striker this summer, should their planned pursuit of Harry Kane fail.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly made the England International his No.1 summer transfer priority, as he aims to go one step further in the Champions League following the heartbreak in Portugal.
The Tottenham Hotspur star appears to be willing to call time on his 16-year stint in North London for a move to Pep Guardiola’s side, but it remains to be seen whether City will pay such a high transfer fee.
According to a report presented by Dean Jones at Eurosport, the premier league champions are preparing alternatives to Kane, who is likely to cost no less than £150 million in this transfer window.
City are long-term admirers of Joao Felix and looked into signing the forward before he left Benfica for Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 for €126m. However, the Portuguese international’s uncertain situation at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium coupled with Atletico Madrid’s interest in signing Bernardo Silva has revived City’s interest in the youngster, Jones claims.
Bernardo Silva, 26, wants to leave England this summer and that the Cityzens are ‘willing to let him leave’ if a ‘suitable’ offer comes in.
The report state that City are generally not open to any swap deal offers for their creative Portuguese midfielder this summer, because of the finances being generated helping in the cause to sign Guardiola’s two top targets—Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

Please make it happen, if Bernardo forces his way out this is the best deal we can get. Joao Felix can play as a striker or Cam, he’s really good with the ball and creative. He can be our next de bruyne.

Now we are talking……if Bernardo is to leave City then Felix in return from Madrid is not a bad deal infact on the contrary it’s a good deal…. because we get a false 9 striker(Guardiola style) & then we can buy grealish as a Bernardo replacement.
