Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims the club have been in touch with Andre Silva’s agents about a possible move to the Etihad this summer.
City’s interest in Silva will come as no surprise given the desire of the England international to chase the biggest trophies in the game coupled with the recent departure of club legend Sergio Aguero.
The Portuguese striker is just one of the names on City’s striker short list, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez, and Southampton’s Danny Ings.
The Portugal international signed for the Bundesliga side following an impressive loan spell last season and finished second in the goalscoring charts behind only Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandoski this season, hitting 28 goals in just 32 league appearances.
According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, with Pep Guardiola seemingly determined to add an elite level striker to his squad after losing Aguero, Manchester City have been in touch with Andre Silva’s agency Gestifute – run by Jorge Mendes – about a possible move.
Eintracht Frankfurt would like up to €40M if a move were to happen, with his advisors ‘entitled’ to around a quarter of that fee, the report adds.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been discussing the possibility of him arriving in Manchester.
If we cant get Kane then I'd be happy with us spending 40 mill on him. After the season hes had thats a rlly good price

Acting like kane is actually available when in reality there’s a 0% chance that a) we actually step up and negotiate around a 100m figure and b) we actually strike a deal with that weapon levy… be more realistic mate

This is a good option if we don’t get Kane and he’s only €40m which is kinda cheap

Good player and a decent option if the bigger targets are too difficult to pull off. I think there's a much bigger chance of this deal happening than City fans would want to believe, but he's a good finisher and with KDB, Foden etc. around him he could do bits for us

This is not the quality that Khaldoon was talking about ffs

I am getting bored. I will not give my opinion about signings or not because every day is somobody new there. City, sign whatever you need and want, thats all. Once sombody signed…I will give my opinion of course.
