Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Phil Foden could be ‘on the verge’ of signing a new contract at the Etihad Stadium – with a considerable pay rise.
The 20-year-old, who is a lifelong Man City fan, has been a star performer for Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect this season.
The youngster has firmly established himself as a first-choice pick for Guardiola, ahead of the more experienced Raheem Sterling, which bodes well for his chances of starting for England at the European Championship.
He recently helped enhance his reputation further by playing a key role in City’s 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, which guided them to the Champions League final.
According to Daily Mail’s Ian Ladyman, Foden is thought to be on the verge of signing a new Manchester City contract to take him into the six-figures-a-week wage bracket.
Foden signed a deal with the club in 2018, which sees him earn £30,000-a-week and runs until 2024.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
