Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has issued a worrying update over the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne after his star playmaker was withdrawn following an injury in the FA Cup.
De Bruyne limped off for this evening ahead of next Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Tottenham, with the Belgian midfielder now a doubt for the game.
Guardiola was asked about the midfielder after the disappointing result – but his response was not as postive as City supporters would’ve wanted to hear.
“I don’t know – he has pain. Tomorrow we’re going to make a test with the doctors but it doesn’t look good. We will see tomorrow.”
City fans are hoping for good news when Guardiola next gives an update as De Bruyne’s ankle injury will be a major concern ahead of a crucial run of fixtures during the business end of the season.
Let’s check out some of the reaction from Man City fans…

That would literally put our season in jeopardy

i’m not even disappointed with the loss, it happens, i am more worried with kdb

without him everything that we have done this season is under the bus
That’s why Pep always say that winning Champion’s League and Cup competitions in general are down to little details like players being injured at the bad moment. There couldn’t be a worse moment to lose KdB. Also have the feeling we could have won with him in second half today.
