Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City target Robin Gosens during this summer’s transfer window.
TuttoMercato last week reported that City have identified the left back as a possible successor of Zinchenko, With claims from journalist Marco Conterio of TuttoMercatoWeb that the Premier League leaders ‘have been following’ him for ‘some time’.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano Speaking on the ‘Here We Go’ Podcast later confirm Gosens is ‘appreciated’ by City, but that the Serie A club have not received an offer.
However, According to Calciomercato, Juventus are also considering making an offer for the left-back, who could be available for €40m (£34.2m) in the upcoming market.
The report claims that the Italian champions view the German as the ideal replacement for Alex Sandro, with the defender being tipped to leave Andrea Pirlo’s side this summer.
The Atalanta left-back has been in impressive form for his Italian club this season with ten goals and seven assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
It remains to be seen what Juventus or City will do in the summer, but it’s clear the Premier league club need a new left back with neither Benjamin Mendy or Oleksandr Zinchenko completely convincing in recent seasons.
The Cityzens have been linked with David Alaba, Nuno Mendes and Nicolas Tagliafico, but Gosens might the most attainable after admitting City’s interest was ‘an absolute honour’.
He said in an interview with Kicker (Sport Witness): “This is, of course, an absolute honour, there is no need to discuss it. (Pep Guardiola) is a coach that I look to, who can raise you to another level in terms of football.”
The 26-year-old could be a superb addition to Guardiola’s side and an excellent replacement for Mendy as he is more natural option in that position than both Cancelo and Zinchenko
