Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Kevin De Bruyne will delay committing to a new deal until after the summer.

The Belgium international has developed into one of the best midfielders in the world during his near-six-year stint at City and still has over two years remaining on his current deal.

His current contract with City currently runs until 2023, but the player has admitted that he is enjoying his stay at the Etihad. But that has not stopped the club from discussing fresh terms with a view to keep the player at the club for much longer.

Reports (as per The Athletic via The Sun) claimed that De Bruyne was annoyed at City’s latest contract offer which is lower than what he currently pockets due to the effect the coronavirus pandemic has had on football.

According to the latest report from Daily Star, De Bruyne will delay committing to a new Manchester City deal until after the summer, although talks between the two parties are underway.

The reports claims the latest offer saw a drop in De Bruyne’s weekly wages to £250,000 – with a significantly improved bonus scheme that could net him £70,000 every seven days.

The report adds that the 29-year-old star is keen to see what deals will be offered to the club’s top transfer targets in the next window.

The €120M rated star is already the club’s top earner but he falls short compared to some others in the Premier League.
