Some Manchester City fans were left unimpressed with the performance of Raheem Sterling in their 2-0 victory over Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
City were bright from the off and had several opportunities to open the scoring early on, with Raheem Sterling wanting a penalty that wasn’t given.
Goals from Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus were enough to give City a comfortable win ahead of the second leg next month, and extending their winning run to 19 games in all competitions.
After a noticeable upturn over the last few months, Raheem found himself bested by the defender every time he got the ball and made the wrong decision often
The Englishman did not enjoy the best of the game, operating in that wide attacking role. He did look menacing whenever he had that ball but he found it difficult to easily get past solid defenders like Stefan Lainer and Matthias Ginter.
The forward was subbed off during the midway point of the second half – a move that left him frustrated. He’s had good games and poor games lately but tonight was probably the worst he’s played all season.
Some Man City fans weren’t impressed with Sterling’s Performance – here’s what some of them had to say on Twitter.
Get rid of Sterling bring Messi in for 18 months & sign Haaland. We’d we regularly score 6+ a week he’s the weak link between being good and outstanding

Yeah, Sterling is obviously undroppable to Pep but his finishing is hurrendous.
