Manchester City turned down the chance to sign Edin Dzeko in the January transfer window, with Pep Guardiola insisting he is happy with the shape of his squad.
The Cityzens were reportedly offered an unlikely reunion with striker Dzeko in the January transfer window following the bust-up with his manager
The Bosnian, who scored 72 goals in 189 appearances for Manchester City left Etihad five and a half years ago, making significant contributions to the club’s two Premier League titles.
When questioned on the reports surrounding the Roma star, Guardiola responded in the press ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action.
“He’s a Roma player and I will never discuss this kind of situation,” Guardiola said.
“My feeling is that we will finish the season with everyone that we started the season with, except maybe one player that everyone knows may be moving (Eric Garcia).
“I don’t think anything else will happen. We will see in the final few days.”
“Our goal difference is the best in the league right now. If our game is good, we will score goals. if our game is not good, we will not score goals.
“I never put pressure on Sergio and Gabriel to solve all the problems we have up front. The reason why we score goals and win games is because our game itself is better, nothing more secret.”
Despite Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus having just two goals between them, goals have started to flow recently with 17 different players finding the net across all competitions this season.
