Many Manchester City fans have been reacting to a tweet that was posted by Man City Xtra, which shared a claims by insiders at the Etihad on Ruben Dias‘ ‘intense determination’ to succeed.
The Portuguese defender arrived Manchester City following his club record move from Benfica two days after a 5-2 defeat to Leicester City, with the Cityzens struggling to shake off the defensive problems that had undermined the previous season.
Last season, City suffered immeasurably in failing to replace their talismanic former skipper. It is one of the main reasons why City finished 18 points behind Liverpool last season. The Portugal international’s arrival has seemingly filled a void that was left at the club ever since Vincent Kompany left.
The former Benfica defender has instantly strengthened a City defence making them the division’s best defensive record in the Premier League this season. Ever since his debut against Leeds United on October 3, Dias has been an ever-present figure in Pep Guardiola’s team.
According to Jonathan Smith via Goal, Insiders at Manchester City say the 23-year-old has an ‘intense determination’ to succeed – watching and learning from those that have done everything required to get to the top of the game.
The report claims that experienced Portugal defenders Pepe and Bruno Alves helped him when he made the step up to the national team while Dias also found an unlikely mentor in Cristiano Ronaldo.
In reaction to the report shared on twitter by Man City Xtra, plenty of Sky Blues have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
