Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports the club is close to reaching an agreement with Kevin De Bruyne over a new five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The Belgium international joined City from Wolfsburg in 2015 and has made 227 appearances for the Manchester side in all competitions, scoring 58 times and contributing 90 assists in the process.
De Bruyne’s existing deal with Pep Guardiola’s side is due to run until June 2023, but according to the Daily Mail, the attacker is in line for a new two-year extension and is expected to put pen to paper on a deal worth beyond £300,000 p/w in wages, with additional bonuses.
The report claims that City have made ‘strong progress’ on talks over a new five-year contract, aiding suggestions that the Belgian will finish his career at the Etihad Stadium.
