Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed reports that Liam Delap was back training with the first team and is in contention for Sheffield United.
The striker, who is the son of former Stoke City and Republic of Ireland star Rory Delap, has gone from strength to strength since moving to City from Derby County in the summer of 2019.
The former Derby County academy star made his senior City debut in the Carabao Cup – a game in which he scored a sensational goal to burst onto the scene.
Delap who was left out of the matchday squad to face West Ham last weekend scored a wondergoal for the Elite Development Squad in their 4-1 home thrashing of Arsenal.
According to an update by Manchester Evening News journalist Simon Bajkowski, Liam Delap has been back training with the first team and is in contention to face Sheffield United on Saturday.

Pep must play him against Sheffield. We looked badly last couple of games. It can’t be much worse with Delap in and at least he presents an aerial threat

Guy was built to play against Brexit United. Instead, we’re gonna Sterling dribbling into Jonathan Egan and squaring up to Sander Berge ffs.

we all know he’ll be an unused sub.. wish we’d just give him a chance to prove himself look what other young players have done when given then opportunity, we have both our strikers out absolutely no excuse not to play him.

We developed Foden and since we couldnt afford one striker , we should work with Delap and Palmer. Our academy does really produce good talents but pep’s obsession of buying 2 good players in every position will lead to countless sancho situations
