Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Sergio Aguero will miss the Citizens Champions League quarter-final clash with Lyon on August 15th.
Lyon surprisingly overcame Juventus on away goals to advance to the final eight, despite suffering a 2-1 loss to the Italian champions in the second leg of their last-16 tie.
City have no suspension concerns heading into the European clash and will be able to call upon left-back Benjamin Mendy once again after the Frenchman served a one-game ban against Madrid.
Aguero, who has been on the sidelines since undergoing knee surgery towards the end of June is the only City player with major doubt for the quarter-final clash with Lyon.
According to journalist Lucas Scagliola, Sergio Aguero, who is yet to resume training will miss the quarter-final clash with Lyon in Lisbon
The Argentine has not yet been officially ruled out of the European quarter-final.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
It seems like Aguero era done to me need serious replacement we can’t rely on him too injury prone😭😭😭😭— amir tamboli (@amirtamboli8) August 8, 2020
Ehmm has anyone considered that just maybe Ageuro not being available right now is actually better for the whole team in terms of work rate and balance?.. or has Citietis made us eternal pessimists? ..peps FCB .. did he ever have a traditional #9?.. no! Think outside the box !— KOO (@komatsola) August 8, 2020
Let Kun Rest, Gabby got this covered. 😌😌— GoatBeardChase🎴 (@chase_chappy) August 8, 2020
The high energy press from gabby might help us. But then again, counting on gabby to score against a back 3 is hopeful.— Constantine (@EnzoConstantin7) August 8, 2020
Just give him a complete rest, would rather have a fully fit Aguero for the Semi’s and final if we get there— Spencer James Tomlinson (@Spencer200003) August 8, 2020
You might start like this mate ( gabriel jesus , aguero, Sterling) those three will give you the pace the skills and pep will play gabby as a 2nd striker or on the left wing so wide on the pitch, also aguero so we can have a clinical finisher inside the box— hashem (@hashem69543373) August 8, 2020
Gabriel Jesus’ impressive performances against Real Madrid over two legs have provided Manchester City fans with the confidence that they are in safe hands for the one-legged tie against the French outfit on August 15.
