Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that Manchester City are expected to begin negotiations over a new contract with Kevin De Bruyne, Who willing to stay at club even if Champions League ban is upheld.
European soccer’s governing body UEFA ruled in February that City had committed serious breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and failed to cooperate with its investigation, handing them a ban and a 30 million euro (24.9 million pounds) fine
City’s appeal against the ban was heard last month at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) and a decision is expected by 13 July. Pep Guardiola recently said he is confident the club will win their appeal against a two-year UEFA ban from European football.
If the ban were to be upheld, there is €220m at stake for the Citizens as the club fear agents ‘will start listening’ to proposals from elsewhere according to Het Belang van Limburg (HBVL) via Sportwitness.
Kevin De Bruyne’s representative could be one among them as the 29-year-old could miss out on premiums of up to £3million
According to Jack Gaughan via Daily Mail, City are expected to begin negotiations over a new contract with the 29-year-old, who has three years to run on his existing deal and earns a guaranteed £280,000 a week.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
