Guardiola admitted there seemed little chance of the club could persuading him to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
According to 90min, Manchester City have let David Silva know that he is welcome to stay at the Etihad next season if he cannot find a suitable move elsewhere, with a 12-month contract waiting for him.
City believe that keeping Silva would be the ideal scenario for them as it would ensure they don’t need to find a new forward this summer, and it would help relieve the pressure on Phil Foden, whose role in the first team is expected to increase next season anyway.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions

D. Silva can still play for City for a couple of season doing what he does best by being absolute class on the pitch. No reason for him to go if he doesnt want to.
David Silva please stay for the fans. You deserve to end your chapter with city in front of crowd and standing ovation.
David Silva deserves a lot from us!
