Manchester City fans have told Pep Guardiola that current on-loan left-back Angelino deserves another chance at the Etihad when he returns from his loan spell
The Citzens took advantage of a buy-back clause to re-sign Angelino, just a year after the Spaniard departed the club for PSV Eindhoven. Angelino made just 12 appearances, though not playing particularly well in them, before he was shipped out once again in January.
Angelino has been impressing in Germany while on loan at exciting RB Leipzig, who are serious contenders to Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga crown, and has shown that he does have quality and versatility.
Manchester City fans have been impressed by his performances in Germany and have called for Guardiola to give him another chance at the club when he returns.
According to reports in German publication Kicker, until two weeks ago, RB Leipzig’s bosses were willing to make a €30 million (£26.3 million) summer move Angelino, who is currently on loan with the German side, however, with the current situation surrounding football resulting in clubs being less financially sound, the report now suggests that Leipzig believe they can no longer afford the 23-year-old.
Angelino has also stated his desire to return to City in an interview with Spanish publication La Voz de Galicia, saying: “I’m still a Citizen and I don’t give up on getting a place there.”
According to a survey by MEN Sport who asked City fans: “Does left-back Angelino deserve another chance at City when he returns from his loan spell at RB Leipzig?”
The clear winner with 67.3 per cent of the 896 votes was ‘yes,’ with fans believing that he is better than their other options at the back, while the remaining 32.7 per cent said ‘no’.
Manchester City fans have also expressed their thoughts and opinions on a Twitter post by Man City Xtra , with many suggesting that the £15.75 million-rated Angelino is good enough to warrant a place in the City starting XI.
The boy is ambitious, I like that… while others are looking for a way out and don’t want to compete then there’s Angeliño who is not scared to compete 👏🏾👏🏾

Much better than spending on another LB since he’s versatile.

Dude is young, not injury prone, fighter and a talent. I say give him a proper chance.

A solid LB tbh he deserves to play ahead of Zinchenko

He fits into Leipzig’s system perfectly
I don’t think he will break into city’s XI because Pep might want him to play as an inverted fullbackWhich he is not really good at

Would love to see zinny back in midfield and just have mendy and angelino on on that left back role. He looked class for ukraine.

He can definitely replace Mendy and Zinchenko. If Angelino was to become the starter, I think that would give him a huge confidence boost. That’s what he has needed I feel.
