Liverpool Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Xabi Alonso is one of the candidates to join Manchester City’s backroom staff after Mikel Arteta took the reigns at Arsenal.
The Liverpool’s former Spanish midfielder and Pep Guardiola has a very good relationship after two seasons together in Germany with Bayern Munich
According to recent reports in Goal, Rodolfo Borrell, Domenec Torrent, Xabi Alonso, David Silva and Andres Iniesta are all contenders for the position which became vacant when Mikel Arteta left to become manager of Arsenal.
It will be a great move for Xabi & his personal prospects of being a manager in the future learning from one of the best.
Alonso potentially returning to England to take up a coaching position at City hasn’t gone down well with some Liverpool fans.
Don’t do it Xabi.

That would end any talk of him returning to LFC for me. Ya can’t conspire against us with Pep, giving him insight into how to deal with Anfield, Hoping we lose games etc then expect to work for us again. Really hope it doesn’t happen. Loved him and always wanted an LFC return.

It could be really interesting with Xabi Alonso

It remains to be seen whether he’d want to work as someone’s assistant now he’s a full-time manager, but perhaps the lure of Guardiola would be too much to turn down.
