A section of England fans were heard singing a chant about Phil Foden ahead of their side’s clash against Serbia on Sunday.
Foden is exactly the type of player any country’s support would be looking to set Euro 2024 alight; fearless, creative, entertaining and most importantly, impactful.
Especially considering English supporters have witnessed Manchester City’s number 47 light up proceedings at club level last season — winning the Premier League Player of the Season award.
The 24-year-old has the chance to cement his name as a world-class player on the global stage.
While it can be argued that European club football is the sport at its best, the prestige and pressure that comes with the international level is one-of-a-kind.
The Three Lions’ players will be all too familiar with such feelings — heading into every major tournament as the talk of the town.
As Gareth Southgate’s side are set to lock horns against Serbia, some England fans belted out a chant for Foden.
