Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is open to offers from Saudi Pro League clubs such as Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr as he nears the end of his contract with the Premier League champions. City have not started negotiations with De Bruyne for a contract extension, suggesting they are preparing for his potential departure. As a result, the club has identified three potential replacements to fill De Bruyne’s shoes.
The three players on City’s shortlist to replace De Bruyne are Benfica’s Joao Neves, Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons. However, signing any of these players could prove difficult as Neves has interest from other clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal, while Benfica are reportedly demanding a high transfer fee. Both Wirtz and Simons are also unlikely to be sold by their current clubs, meaning City may have to pay a hefty price if they want to secure any of them.
In addition to De Bruyne, City goalkeeper Ederson has also attracted interest from Saudi clubs, with Al-Nassr reportedly offering him a lucrative contract. If Ederson accepts, he could earn significantly more than his current wages at City. It remains to be seen whether De Bruyne, Ederson, or any other City player will be swayed by the financial offers from Saudi clubs.
