Manchester City is facing uncertainty regarding the future of midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who is entering the final year of his contract with the club. De Bruyne has been linked to a potential move to Saudi Arabia this summer, raising concerns among Manchester City officials and fans. However, a new prospective suitor has emerged in the form of American MLS franchise San Diego FC, who are reportedly interested in signing the Belgian star.

San Diego FC is said to be preparing an ambitious attempt to bring De Bruyne to the USA, offering terms comparable to those of football icon Lionel Messi. De Bruyne has expressed a preference for a move to America, making San Diego’s bid an attractive option for the 32-year-old midfielder. Despite this interest, Manchester City are still open to negotiating a new contract with De Bruyne and have already initiated discussions with his representatives.

If De Bruyne ultimately decides to leave Manchester City, the club is likely to focus on recruiting midfield replacements, with Bruno Guimaraes and Lucas Paqueta being identified as potential targets. Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz have also been considered as successors to De Bruyne in the Bundesliga. Manchester City are expected to continue planning for the future, whether De Bruyne remains at the club or not.
